Consultancy title: ECCD Columnist of Save the Children China’s WeChat Account
Location: Shanghai
CHILD SAFEGUARDING:
Level 1: the consultant will not have contact with children and/or young people, or access to personal data about children or young people, as part of their work; therefore a police check will not be mandatory unless the content or location of the role changes, in which case the Child Safeguarding level will be reviewed.
Background
Shanghai ECCD Project aims to improve the quality of ECCD for migrant children ages 3-6 enrolled in Tier-Three kindergartens in Shanghai. The project activities include equipping kindergartens with age-appropriate materials; training kindergarten teachers and administrators; enriching caregivers’ knowledge, attitudes and skills; encouraging parents’ participation in kindergarten activities; working with the government to ensure quality ECCD services for underserved children, and generating essential ECCD knowledge available to parents beyond the project.
To improve household and community knowledge, attitude and practices ECCD, we have been promoting ECCD knowledge on Save the Children China’s WeChat Account.
Purpose
Improve household and community knowledge, attitude and practices ECCD.
Increase the click rate of Save the Children WeChat Official Account.
Consultant Tasks & Expected Outputs
Engage in monthly meetings with Save the Children Shanghai ECCD Staff to determine the specific topic of each article.
Compose one original article of high quality on ECCD per week for Save the Children China’s WeChat Account.
Revise and edit the article content based on Shanghai ECCD Staff’s review comments.
The estimated working days for this role are 10 days on a monthly basis.

Person Specifications required:
Bachelor degree or above with experience in WeChat articles writing.
Professional knowledge and experience in early childhood care and development.
Excellent writing ability.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Strong sense of responsibility and professionalism, good teamwork ability.
